Import Data (Texas)
Please note: The list of data imports varies by state. Many data points are automatically imported directly from the Student Information Management System (SIMS); others may require additional steps.
To import student data into Pathways, click on the test link and follow the onscreen prompts. In all cases we have provided at least 2 methods for importing the data. The first is using the default file from the provider, and the second is using a generic template we provide to make the process simpler.
STAAR EOCs
There are 5 different ways to upload EOC scores into Pathways, depending on the file(s) the user has access to: .CSV or .TXT.
Pathways will accept either file format, but users will need to use the correct file importer based on the file type and content:
Import Using STAAR.TXT File(s)
Import Using Cambium .TXT File(s)
Import Using Cambium .CSV File(s)
Import Single EOC Exam Scores via .CSV
Import All EOC Exam Scores via .CSV
College Board Exams
PSAT/SA
Test scores can be downloaded from College Board® in form of a .CSV file or a .XLSX file; Pathways will accept either.
Users simply select the file to upload, and once processed, they will be able to review the data for accuracy prior to committing it to Pathways.
AP
Test scores can be downloaded from College Board® in form of a .CSV file. This file should have roughly 200 headers, and The first several column headers should include: AP Number / AP ID, Last Name, First Name, etc.
Users simply select the file to upload, and once processed, they will be able to review the data for accuracy prior to committing it to Pathways.
ACT & TSIA2
ACT
Tests scores are available from ACT® in form of a .CSV file. This file will have an extensive number of items per row, with the first several column headers including: Data_Src, Rep_Dte, ID_ACT, Coll_Cde…
Users simply select the file to upload, and once processed, they will be able to review the data for accuracy prior to committing it to Pathways.
TSIA2
This uploader requires that you provide the official TSIA2 report in the form of a .CSV file. This file should include the following column headers, but not necessarily in this order: First Name, Last Name, Student ID, Birth Date, TSIA2 WritePlacer, etc.
Users simply select the file to upload, and once processed, they will be able to review the data for accuracy prior to committing it to Pathways.
Graduated Students
Once schools “roll over” their SIS in the summer, any potentially graduating senior is deactivated as their graduation year has passed.
In order to “reactivate” these students and access/edit their profiles, users will need to set the status for these students as “graduated”.
On the import page, users will need to click on the appropriate radio button, either "Graduated" or "Removed from Graduated List" if someone is a 5th year graduate.
They then enter one student state ID number per line, or alternatively copy and paste a list from a spreadsheet into the data entry box, and click LOAD STUDENTS.
Industry-Based Certifications (Skyward Q only)
Most SIS will be setup during initial purchase of Pathways so that industry-based certifications (IBCs) are automatically ingested and applied to students' profiles.
Should a user need to upload the data directly into Pathways rather than via their SIS, this can be completed on our IBC import page.
Manual Upload
Users can enter one student state ID number per line followed by the appropriate PEIMS certification ID number(s) and Result code(s).
Once done, users will click on the “Load Certifications For Review” button.
On the page that loads you will be given an opportunity to review (and edit) the data before loading.
File Upload
If done via file upload, users will need to generate a separate spreadsheet of students with one student state ID number per line followed by the appropriate PEIMS certification ID number(s) and Result code(s).
The file should be titled. “ibc.csv” and should contain the following headers: Student_State_Id, Certification PEIMS ID 1, Result Code 1, Certification PEIMS ID 2, Result Code 2, etc.
Once selected, users will click the “LOAD ibc.csv FILE” button.
Accepted Result Codes:
01 - Earned IBC
02 - Passed IBC exam, but all requirements have not been fulfilled
03 - IBC exam failed
Programs of Study
Programs of Study are usually collected in 1-on-1 meetings with middle school counselors and students, and then revised after their freshmen year, if needed.
In many cases, however, this information was collected on paper or on an Excel spreadsheet. Users have two options to apply these to individual students: one at a time or in mass.
Within the Student’s Graduation Worksheet
In the student’s graduation worksheet, scroll down to the Programs of Study area along the right-hand side of the screen.
Click on “View Synopsis” to see within which Programs of Study the student has already completed coursework. The best match will be the top option.
Click back to return to the worksheet and select the appropriate option from one of the four dropdown menus available. Feel free to select more than one.
Mass Upload
Either copy and paste the students' information, one student per line, with comma separators between the students' state ID numbers and their chosen Program(s) of Study…up to 4
