College Readiness

  • College Readiness Exams: established benchmark scores must be met or exceeded in order to fulfill this requirement. When data is loaded in Pathways, students' scores are evaluated and a target or trophy is assigned.

    • SAT -

      • Mathematics: minimum score of 530

      • Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: minimum score of 480

    • ACT -

      • Mathematics: minimum score of 22

      • (E+R): combined score of 40 in English & Reading tests

    • TSIA2 -

      • Mathematics: minimum score of 950 or <950 with a diagnostic level 6

      • EWR: (a) minimum score of 945 on the M/C section with an essay score of 5-8 or

(b) <945 on the M/C section and a diagnostic level of 5 or 6 and an essay score of 5-8

  • Accelerated Tester: defined as students who complete a STAAR EOC at the Approaches Grade Level or above standard in Algebra I, English II, and/or Biology prior to grade 9. To fulfill federal testing requirements, these accelerated students must take a corresponding subject area SAT or ACT while in high school. (Performance cut points are displayed below)

  • In Pathways, this checkbox is automatically checked based on when a student took their English I, Algebra I, or Biology EOC exam.

  • OnRamps: dual enrollment option offered to schools in partnership with the University of Texas. Students must complete an OnRamps dual enrollment course and qualify for at least three hours of university or college credit in any subject area.

    • In Pathways, this checkbox must be manually selected after enrollment and grade criteria have been verified by the counselor.

  • Dual Credit: program of courses offered by local IHEs partnered with school districts, allowing high school students to enroll in college courses and earn credit for both high school and college. Students must complete 9 hours in any subject area OR 3 credit hours in English OR 3 credit hours in Mathematics.

    • In Pathways, this checkbox is automatically selected if the 3 hours of math or English OR the 9 hours of other subjects is completed.
