Performance Acknowledgements (Texas)
Performance Acknowledgements are additional recognition areas for outstanding performance or additional accomplishments in high school and are independent of endorsements.
A student may earn a Performance Acknowledgment for:
outstanding performance
in a dual credit course
in bilingualism and biliteracy
on the PSAT, SAT, or ACT tests
Earning a nationally or internationally recognized IBC
Dual Credit: student must compete at least 12 hours of college academic courses with an average grade of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Bilingualism and Biliteracy: student must complete all English requirements with an overall average of 80+ AND complete 3+ credits in the same language (other than English) with an overall average of 80+.
PSAT, SAT, or ACT: student must meet one of the following criteria-
PSAT score that qualifies the student as a “Commended Scholar”
Combined SAT score >= 1250
Composite ACT score >= 28
IBCs: require the completion of an examination or series of examinations sufficient to obtain a nationally or internationally recognized certification. Includes most Level I or II NCCER & NIMS certifications and the Texas State Florists' Association Level I certification.
